Defensive end Frank Herron from Memphis (Tenn.) Central High School has committed to LSU.
Tennessee and Clemson were finalists for Herron, who’s considered the nation’s fourth-best prospect in the state of Tennessee by ESPN RecruitingNation.
“It felt like home,” Herron said of LSU, according to ESPN. “Family feeling. I feel like I could play there and grow there.”
That growth will be led partly by LSU defensive coordinator John Chavis, who headed up the recruitment of Herron.
“That’s a great guy. A great guy,” Herron said of Chavis. “He motivates me.”
Herron is the 14th prospect and second defensive end to commit to LSU’s class of 2013.
