'was' a destination job is probably closer to the truth. that nebraska was ever much more than a run of the mill montana or utah state is amazing when you consider the demographics, location, and playing conditions for a good third of the season. its tradition is a tribute to two superior coaches, devaney and osborne. they would have won wherever they were. i don't see pelini as being in their class. furthermore, now that they're in the ebbing big ten, they're no longer the only show in town. the sec really caught a break when the big ten stiffed mizzou for the huskers. i see nebraska becoming the big ten version of iowa state or kansas state.

As I Hog fan, and resident of Nebraska, I've watched Pelini over the last few years and can tell you we Arkies do not want him. He is a screamer, and an overly volatile person that he's going to do something stupid someday. We had that with Petrino, and don't need another national fiasco. Besides, he likes being in the Big 10 where is is originally from. He's really a defense coach, not a good head coach. While I am not a Husker fan per se, you are definately wrong about Nebraska. These fans are as committed to their team (support, financially, etc.) as much as the best schools in the nation. They travel better than most. Yes, they have to recruit from other states, but so does Arkansas, your Tennessee, and many other schools. They will never be an Iowa State I assure you of that. A Montana or Utah State? Sorry, but that just shows a lack of knowledge. Personally, I want Garrick McGee.

@omahahog i'll type this slowly. what i said was that it was amazing that nebraska wasn't montana or utah state. and i don't doubt that husker fans are committed and travel well. my point was that in a few years, they can all car pool.

@sojourner OK, sorry for the error Sojo, you are correct. I was reading too fast at lunch time. (apparently like Mr. SEC was since I got chastised for something I didn't say to him) However, I stick by my statement they will never be an Iowa State and since you seem to know your stuff, maybe you should reconsider that statement. I wasn't trying to poke you in the eye pal, sorry if it came off that way.
