Linebacker Reggie Carter took notice when Georgia added three commitments to its class of 2013 during the weekend.
That influenced the Snellville, Ga., standout to give his pledge to the Bulldogs on Monday.
“Georgia is loading up this year, and I did not want to waste any time,” Carter told ESPN.com. “I called (running backs) coach Bryan McClendon and he put me on the phone with all of the coaches and they were all really excited to hear I was committing to them. It feels great to be a Bulldog. I love the atmosphere and when I walk in there it feels like home.”
Georgia will be the future home for athlete J.J. Green from Kingsland, Ga. He committed to the Bulldogs during a visit to the campus on Monday afternoon.
“I did not plan on committing when I came up, but seeing everyone today, including the coaches, it just felt right,” Green told ESPN. “The coaches and the atmosphere – and when I was walking around the campus they were calling my name.”
Green’s commitment gives Georgia 14 pledges for the class of 2013. And that number is expected to more than double before coach Mark Richt is done assembling the class.
