Two Voters Keep UK’s Davis From Being A Unanimous All-American

Florida’s Billy Donovan called Kentucky’s Anthony Davis an “all-time great” this season.  And yesterday he was named a first-team All-American.

But he wasn’t a unanimous pick.

According to Jeff Goodman of CBSSports.com on Twitter, hoops writers Scott Reid of The Orange County Register in California and Scott Mansch of The Great Falls Tribune in Montana left Davis off their ballots.

Now, should people send them nasty emails and threats?  No, because only an A-1, no-life, nutjob would care enough to do so.

And that’s why we’re posting on this topic.  It’s an All-American list.  It’s put together by voters and every single one them has his or her own criteria for deciding who’s worthy of the honor and who’s not.

Folks shouldn’t get bent out of shape over this stuff.  Show me a statistical-based analysis – like the one we did right here — and I’m sure you’ll find that UK’s Davis was truly one of the five best players in the country.

As for a poll?  Sorry, couldn’t care less.
