Great pickup for the Commodores. Franklin was very close to pulling in the number one qb last year. Top qb's seem to like how the guy coaches
Vanderbilt has received its first commitment for the 2013 class from quarterback Johnathan McCrary from Cedar Grove High School in Ellenwood, Ga.
McCrary chose Vanderbilt over an impressive list of offers that includes Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, Florida State and Ohio State.
McCrary said he was told by Vanderbilt assistant coach Sean Spencer that he will be the only quarterback in the Commodores’ 2013 class, according to 247Sports.
“Coach Spencer just laid it on me talking about bringing me in as the only quarterback for the class of 2013 saying that I have a great chance of competing and being a starting quarterback for Vanderbilt,” McCrary said.
McCrary is ranked the No. 6 dual-threat quarterback in the nation and the 19th-best prospect in Georgia by 247Sports.
