The standout from Dutchtown High School in Geismar, La., is going against his mother’s wishes by choosing Alabama over LSU. She made that clear when Collins announced his decision on Jan. 5.
Rumors began to swirl recently that Collins was having second thoughts about his decision and had returned to LSU’s campus for a visit.
Not true, according to Collins. He sent a text message to Jamie Newberg of ESPN.com to deny rumors of the trip and confirm his plan to sign with Alabama.
