Quarterback Gunner Kiel from Columbus (Ind.) East High School has committed to LSU.
Kiel chose the Tigers over Vanderbilt and Notre Dame after previously committing to Indiana.
“I can’t wait to play in the SEC,” Kiel told 247Sports.com. “A lot of people call it the NFL of college football and it will be an exciting time. It would mean a lot to be a starting quarterback in such a great conference at a great school. I really love the players and the coaching staff (at LSU). They were all great to me on my visit and seemed very welcoming.”
That’s probably because Kiel is ranked the nation’s top pro-style quarterback by 247Sports. His commitment improves LSU’s 2012 class ranking to fourth nationally.
Kiel has already graduated high school and will enroll at LSU in January.
