Scheduling Moves At Arkansas And Florida

A couple of SEC schools have announced scheduling moves in the past 24 hours…

Arkansas will host old rival Texas in Fayetteville in 2021.  That game is actually a return trip for the Razorbacks’ visit to Austin back in 2008.  Too bad the Longhorns don’t have room on their schedule for Texas A&M, no?

And Florida will host Florida Atlantic in 2015 and UMass in 2016.  The Minutemen will be transitioning to the FBS level of play in 2013.  (Link Fixed.)

UCLA - Texas rivalry is more important and has more historical meaning.

UCLA - Texas have a rivalry? I highly doubt that it has more historical meaning.

More than the A&M-Texas rivalry? I really hope you are being sarcastic.

Give Texas-Texas A&M some time. It took quite a while for Arkansas to get Texas to add the Razorbacks back to their schedule. Granted so far it's temporary. But there tends to be some hurt feelings once a team jumps conferences. Just seems like some time has to pass before old rivalries can be reconsidered.

Texans are very insular, so you know they'll eventually renew the rivalry.

I agree about Arkansas, but I think there's a distinction worth making in that Texas was supposed to join the SEC with Arkansas. The fans and media bashed Arkansas for leaving, but I think the administrators at Texas probably understood, unlike with A&M.

Hahaha, Texas laughed at us when we asked to move the return game with Texas from 2009 to 2014, calling us cowards. Now Texas has asked to move the game 2021. I think they're waiting til Petrino leaves.
