UM’s Mackey Says Alabama “Can Be Beat”

It’s the equivalent of walking up the steps, facing the axeman and saying, “That blade doesn’t look too sharp.”

Ole Miss quarterback Randall Mackey — fresh off his first career start in a win over Fresno State — told reporters yesterday that the Rebels’ next opponent isn’t perfect:

“Alabama is just Alabama.  They’ve got a real good defense from the D-line to the secondary.  There are still, I’m not going to say weaknesses, you know, they ain’t Superman.  So they can be beat.”

Yes.  The Baltimore Ravens might take ‘em.  But the odds of Ole Miss getting the job done are pretty slim.  And when this quote hits the bulletin board in Tuscaloosa, those odds will get even slimmer.

Did he notice the middle of his offensive line moving backwards against Fresno? I was already considering taking out a life insurance policy on him before this game. This settles it.

Alabama can be beat, sure. Anyone can be beat. But if Alabama loses to Ole Miss this year then that might be one of the most pathetic displays in the history of our program.

You gotta love these college kids that can't seem to help but run their mouth.

It's good to have confidence as an athlete, and especially a QB. BUT, he just put a bullseye on his back. He may want to talk to Brantley and Wilson about their experiences.

I'm sure he said the same thing about Vandy.
