Two MSU O-Linemen Won’t Need Surgery

If you’re a Mississippi State fan, at least the sting of Saturday’s down-to-the-wire 41-34 loss to Auburn won’t be amplified by further pains brought on by injuries.

Left tackle James Carmon and center Quentin Saulsberry — both injured on Saturday — will not require surgery.  Both players are starters.

Saulsberry was hurt in the game’s final quarter.  Dan Mullen says he thinks his center has a chance to be back for Thursday’s game with LSU.

There is no word on when Carmon might return, however.  He left Saturday’s contest in the second quarter due to some type of knee injury.  MSU officials aren’t releasing much info on the injury or on a projected date of return.

The backups for both players are redshirt freshmen.
