“Still A Good Chance Arrests Will Be Made” In LSU Case

According to Sgt. Don Stone of the Baton Rouge Police Department, there is still “a good chance arrests will be made” when an investigation into last Friday morning’s bar fight is completed.  And police plan to interview “as many as a dozen” more witnesses.

BRPD Chief Dewayne White opened up — to an extent — about what information police have gathered so far.  “We have conflicting statements from parties at the scene that support one version over the version of the LSU players.  What we don’t have is a version of an objective third party that has absolutely no ties to the parties involved in this incident.”

White added: “We don’t have conclusive video evidence that would support either claim.  Until we’re able to sift through the evidence and statements and arrive at the truth, that may take some time.”

Starting quarterback Jordan Jefferson and teammates Chris Davenport, Josh Johns, and Jarvis Landry might face anything from simple battery charges to second-degree battery charges.

LSU opens its season next Saturday against #3 Oregon at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
