Dooley Hoping For A Good Withdrawal On Saturday

Gearing up for Tennessee’s season opener on Saturday, Derek Dooley shared a new analogy with the Knoxville press today:

“A lot of new guys.  Got to teach them what it means to prepare.  I equated it to every day you’re depositing money in your bank account — every day.  The investment that you put in physically, the investment you put in mentally is a deposit.

On gameday, you withdraw it all.  So, the more you deposit during the week, the more money you’re going to have on gameday to play well.

Today we put a pretty good deposit in and we’ll see if we can keep it going all week.”

Dooley’s Vols will host FCS-level Montana in their opener on Saturday evening.

Why would listing the team's upcoming opponent be a slight? A little sensitive maybe?

sorry, i did think you were taking a shot at the vols since most of the sport writers , espn, css and others are always negitive when they talk about the vols. i'm through posting.

Hey short tail, did you read the headline to this article? Why would you click on it if you wanted to know the SEC schedule this weekend? You know what, never mind.

you mentioned the vols will host fcs- level montana in their opener, why not let the country know who the opponents are for the other sec schools opener

paulovol0...

Thanks for the comeback, but I think shorttail was suggesting that I was somehow attacking his Vols... by simply mentioning who they play in week one.

If shorttail feels I'm taking shots at his team as part of some grand conspiracy, he should simply go back through the day's posts and he'll soon find where we included the Vegas line for each and every SEC opener. (There were no lines, however, for Tennessee, Arkansas and Vanderbilt... who all open with FCS opponents.)

Thanks for reading the site,
John
