USC’s Clowney Welcomed To Columbia With A Frisking

Early this morning, the nation’s top football signee Jadeveon Clowney was frisked by Columbia, South Carolina police in the Five Points area of town.

A spokesperson for the Columbia PD told WIS-TV that they do have reports of officers being called to “a couple of bars” in the Five Points district last night, but those reports are not yet available.

(Click the headline for a bigger view of Clowney’s frisking.)

According to Travis Haney of The Charleston Post & Courier, Clowney was not detained and the reason for the search was not immediately known.  Carolina students — aware of who Clowney is — “were booing and becoming upset” as their star signee was being frisked outside a bar called The Salty Nut Cafe.

Clowney is not yet officially enrolled at South Carolina.

Soon after her son picked South Carolina, Josenna Clowney told FoxSports.com the following:  “I really like Clemson.  I think that’s the best place for him.  I’m not disappointed he’s going to South Carolina.  I need to make sure he knows that there’s a lot of stuff to get into and he don’t need to be down there (in Columbia) fooling around.”

Wonder what she’s thinking this morning?

Well, for starters ask Mrs. Clowney why her 18 year old son is at a bar at 2:30 AM. Is that the fault of the Cola PD?

And, while we're at it, let's talk about the incident that was just resolved in quaint little Athens town. Yeah, y'all have room to talk.

The ATL media still trying to trash everything USC, Spurrier and Columbia. Too bad fir you though as SC will beat UGA again this year.

He was being "frisked" that's it. There are bars around here where I live where EVERYONE gets frisked as they enter by uniformed security guards. Big deal. Furthermore, he was only frisked because he fit a description of a report of a person having a gun. Who's to say that the report wasn't fradulent? I love how the media loves to ruin these kids before they ever get started.

Coy...

Uh, yeah. I'm not really sure how the media is trying to "ruin these kids." The top signed in the country was frisked -- by police, not bouncers -- last night outside a bar. He is not even on campus officially yet. Angry, drunk students then supposedly threw objects at the cops.

Not sure how you view that as anything other than newsworthy.

Yeah, Muschamp would just make sure the news was kept out of the newspapers.

Mama is always right. She should have steered him to Gainesville. Muschamp would have him reading his bible and drinking his milk. :) Well, unless your Jelani Jenkins.
