Reports: Anderson To Arkansas Almost Done

ESPN.com’s Andy Katz is reporting that Arkansas officials are expected to meet with Missouri coach Mike Anderson sometime today and “according to sources, a contract offer and Anderson’s acceptance of it appear to be a formality.”

A Missouri official told ESPN today that no announcement was expected to come from that school today.

KHBS/KHOG-TV in Northwest Arkansas is running with a similar report:

A direct source at the University of Arkansas confirmed to 40/29 News that Mike Anderson is expected to be named the Hogs new head basketball coach.

Congrats, Hog fans.Ā  It looks like you’ve got your man.

UPDATE — Anderson has reportedly been offered a seven-year, $2.2 million deal by Arkansas.

Is it 2.2 a year for 7 years, or a 7 year deal for 2.2? I'm assuming the 2.2 a year deal, which would actually make it a 7 year deal for 15.4 mil.

If he can keep the highly rated recruiting class together, Anderson will do well at Arkansas for the next few years. Pel would have done well, too. Players do make a difference.

I'm not quite sure what people are seeing that makes Mike Anderson worth $2.2 mill a year.

Specter177...

I thought about writing it that way, but I figured no one would think I meant he was making $2.2 million over the course of seven years. Most coaches don't take SEC jobs for $300,000 per year.

Also, these deals are almost always referred to in Years/Value Per Year terms.
