UF’s Parsons Questionable For Georgia Game

Florida is playing to win the SEC regular season title and earn — possibly — a #2 seed in the NCAA Tournament.  Georgia is trying to make a strong push at season’s end to improve its own bubble status.  But when the two teams meet on Thursday, it’s possible the teams won’t be at full strength.  The Gators could be without senior forward Chandler Parsons.

“I’m concerned about that right now,” Billy Donovan said of Parsons’ questionable health.  Parsons tried to work out on Friday, but this deep thigh bruise was swollen by Saturday.  He did not play yesterday in a UF win at Baton Rouge.

“We didn’t set him back,” Donovan said.  “I don’t think he’ll get set back.  They only thing that will set him back is if he’s hit right there in that spot again and they’ll pad him up so that even if he did get hit there, it certainly won’t be at the level it was when he got hit the first time (nine days ago).  I don’t know if he’ll play against Georgia.”

Due to the swelling in the leg, Florida isn’t allowing Parsons to workout or practice.  He is averaging nearly 11 points and 8 rebounds per game for the Gators.
