SEC Headlines – 2/17/11 Part One

1.  Florida linebacker Neiron Ball is still hospitalized (and improving) after a blood vessel burst in his brain (according to his high school coach).  Thoughts and prayers to Ball and his family.

2.  Is sounds like Dominique Easley will stay with the Gators and not seek a transfer.

3.  Georgia blew a lead and another home game in losing 64-56 to Vanderbilt last night.

4.  The Dawgs’ two worst shooting nights of the year have come against Vandy’s defense.

5.  UGA really needs a road win at Tennessee on Saturday.

6.  John Calipari wants to see some late-game consistency from his Kentucky team.

7.  UK has told ESPN that its SkyCam — which hung from the rafters at Rupp Arena on Tuesday and provided views that made several viewers queasy — will not be welcomed in the future.

8.  South Carolina has now dropped four games in a row following a 73-67 loss at Tennessee last night.

9.  The Vols got better point guard play as they won their eighth-straight game against Carolina.

10.  There’s still plenty of room for improvement in Knoxville, however.

11.  The UT football team has lost 6 or more games for three consecutive seasons, so… season ticket prices are going up.

12.  John Jenkins scored all 21 of his points in the second half to lead Vandy to its road win at Georgia.

13.  The Commodores’ victory should help on the seeding front.

14.  VU focused on “finishing road games” in practice this week.  They did just that last night.
