Report: NCAA Investigators Head To Louisiana In Auburn Probe

And this is the danger of having NCAA investigators on your tail.

While sources continue to say that NCAA sleuths have yet to turn up any serious new dirt regarding Auburn’s recruitment of Cam Newton, the NCAA’s investigation into the Newton recruitment might lead to the discovery of other violations involving other players.

Back in January, Thayer Evans of FoxSports.com relayed the story of Auburn’s surprising recruiting success in Thibodaux, Louisiana.  Monday, the NCAA turned up to talk to Auburn signee Greg Robinson and three other people in Thibodaux regarding AU’s recruitment of Robinson and current Tiger receiver Trovon Reed (who signed with Auburn last year).

The NCAA is taking an interest in a person named Sean Nelson — who may or may not be acting as a “street agent” for players — and Auburn assistant Trooper Taylor.

"There are rumors about plenty of schools, especially in the SEC. But he is only after AU."

You'll get no argument from me on that one. I don't know Evans' motivations, but it appears -- from the outside looking in -- that he wrote a Cam Newton piece, got torched by some over-the-top Auburn fans, and decided to fire back again and again and again. But I could be wrong.

Even with that said. There are no worries here. the coach by his own admission has no evidence to give to support AU paid either player. It is still a witch hunt against Auburn. And if memory serves me correctly Lorio was asked to resign for the school. So he is no longer a coach there. The problem Thayer still has is that he can prove nothing.

By the way, I LOVE THIS SITE! i come here everyday and hit refresh all day to see what you posting.

If AU did anything wrong they should and will be punished, but Thayers hit pieces are uncalled for. There are rumors about plenty of schools, especially in the SEC. But he is only after AU.

You might want to find someone else to confirm this report. Someone other than Brooks and Thayer. I guess they think if they keep swinging eventually they will hit a homerun. Instead they keep hitting pop ups. Thayer's latest is a complete joke of an article. Nothing init implicants Auburn in any wrong doing.
