8 SEC Coaches Named Top Recruiters

When nine of the SEC’s schools land in the final Top 25 recruiting rankings for Rivals.com it only makes sense that a few of those SEC recruiters be singled out as the best in the country.

Earlier today we told you that LSU recruiting coordinator Frank Wilson has been named Rivals.com’s Recruiter of the Year for 2011.  But he’s got plenty of company from the Southeastern Conference.  Also listed as ranking among the 25 best recruiters in the land this year:

Mike Bobo, Georgia
GA Mangus, South Carolina
Tee Martin, Kentucky
Jim McElwain, Alabama
Sal Sunseri, Alabama
Trooper Taylor, Auburn
Tommy Thigpen, Auburn

Agreed. Both LSU and Auburn have the coaches and personnel every bit as good as bama. saban isnt the best coach. his teams can get overly prideful and overconfident.

I couldnt agree more. the endless predictions for bama to dominate everyone at all times is ludicrous. i also like how you counted those national championships correctly. you dont see that often what with all the bama lies clouding up the joint.

contrary to some who live in candyland ,bama will not take the west this year. they wont even be second. in fact, bama won't be adding to their 5 national championships any time soon. LSU is the favorite this year in the west with Auburn right on their heels. Go Tigers!! When both LSU and Auburn beat bama this year the grumbling will begin for Saban to go. If saban doesnt win in 2012 then look for him to bail to the pros.

Congrat to all these men. I wish however that they not just recognize coaches from schools that had the top classes (as usual)but also coaches that made the biggest efforts. Coach James Franklin of Vandy had 7 weeks to recruit. Some of the assistant coaches were only on board for a few weeks. And yet at the end of the day we got 21 not the 12 expected. We got two 4 star players. We got players who decommited from some big time programs to come to Vandy. Absolutely extraordinary. He should have been recognized too.
