Lineman Ward Becomes Georgia’s 22nd Commitment

Georgia has received a commitment from offensive lineman Xzavier Ward from Colquitt County High School in Moultrie, Ga.

I feel great about it,” Ward told the Atlanta Journal Constitution. “I feel like it’s a great opportunity.”

Ward is Georgia’s 22nd commitment for the class of 2011 and 17th prospect from inside the state to give his pledge to the Bulldogs.

Georgia is trying to build what many are calling a “Dream Team” because of all the in-state talent choosing to play for their state school. Ward wanted to be a part of it.

“I almost waited too long,” Ward said of his offer from Georgia. “But I didn’t want to go too far from home and I liked the idea of playing in-state for the state school. Georgia’s got a lot of great players coming in now with the Dream Team and I wanted to be a part of it.”
