“WHAT DO YOU MEAN ESPN3.COM IS BLACKED OUT!?”
Per League TV contract rules, all SEC institutions are guaranteed at least 1 In-house PPV game a year, and this season ULM drew the short straw. Thanks to advances in ESPN’s digital offerings, though, It’s not nearly as bad a proposition as it used to be. In fact, certain out of state residents will be in a better position to enjoy the game than those who live a block from the stadium.
This year the Tigervision game will be streamed live for free on ESPN3.com everywhere outside of the local blackout area. While that seems like the locals get screwed with the $34.50 bill, remember that the point of Tigervision is to recoup lost revenues from a poorly attended game. As is always the case, the best way to catch a Tigervision game is to actually go to the game. Great seats can be had for face value from any number of people around campus who claim to have better things to do this weekend.
For those not blessed with residing in the great state of Louisiana, your viewing options depend on whether or not ESPN3.com works for you. The quickest and easiest way to find out is to go to espn3.com and see if it works.
