A 34-31 OT win over Georgia, one coach Urban Meyer called "the biggest one we've had," warranted a hug from AD Jeremy Foley. (AP photo)
Skepticism would be the right reaction to Urban Meyer’s comments following the Gators’ win over Georgia on Saturday.
He called the 34-31 overtime victory, “the biggest win we’ve had,” and two national championships come to mind that might refute that.
But, before it gets dismissed as crazy, let Meyer explain why.
Given how things were following a three-game losing streak, a first ever for Meyer, a win, any win, would be good. To beat Florida’s biggest rival in overtime, well, that means a little more.
Meyer described the past three weeks as miserable, or at least all but two hours each day when the team practiced.
Is it the biggest win the Gators have had, at least during Meyer’s tenure? You can debate that, but he believes it.
