UT’s Pearl Will Face The Press Today

Today is basketball media day at Tennessee and Bruce Pearl will go before the press to talk about his NCAA issues, his team, his NCAA issues, his style of play, his NCAA issues, his new players, his NCAA issues.  And his NCAA issues.

As you can see, I’m guessing there will be more questions about the NCAA issues than anything else.  Depending on how willing Pearl is to talk about the matter, of course.  And keep in mind, the NCAA doesn’t want him talking too much about said matter in the first place.

Mike Griffith of The Knoxville News Sentinel takes a guess at what Pearl will and won’t say when asked about the NCAA’s investigation into the program.

In his view, Pearl will say:  He’s not happy that he and his assistants can’t go off-campus to recruit (due to in-house sanctions), but that he and his coaches have been present to work with the Vols’ five newcomers.

In Griffith’s view, Pearl will not say:  NCAA probation is likely and more sanctions are possible.
