Leonard Changes Mind, Sticks With Florida

Tight end A.C. Leonard has again committed to Florida less than a week after he decided to open up his recruitment.

Leonard, who attends Jacksonville (Fla.) University Christian, said last week he would consider Alabama, Miami and perhaps others. That’s no longer the case.

“Lately people have been coming into my life for the wrong reasons,” he told Scout.com. “They have been giving me bad advice, but now I have had time to sit down and think things through. I am a Gator and I am shutting the whole process down.”

Leonard not only recommitted to Florida, but he apologized for his indecisiveness, too.

“I want to apologize to the Gator Nation and Coach (Urban Meyer, (quarterbacks) coach (Scot) Loeffler and (tight ends) coach (Brian) White,” Leonard said. “These are all a great group of guys and also the entire coaching staff. To my fellow 2011 commitments, I am 100-percent Gator and the recruiting process is over.”
