SEC East Headlines – 4/9/10

1.  As spring practice winds down in Gainesville, fans now a have a few answers about their team.

7.  Georgia defensive lineman Kiante Tripp has been through a lot of changes during this days in Athens.

8.  Tomorrow’s G-Day game will be the first time UGA’s three quarterbacks take their competition in front of an audience.

9.  Georgia has handed out its spring awards (and one scholarship) today.

10.  Backup tailback Dontavius Jackson was the peacemaker in Athens’ recent taxi incident.  Kudos to him.

11.  Left guard Cordy Glenn “had an outstanding spring.”

12.  Punter Drew Butler wants “to make that ball go higher and farther.”

13.  New Kentucky offensive line coach Mike Summers takes a scholarly approach to physical play.

14.  DeMarcus Cousins has signed with an agent, but he’s still going to class.  “He’s not going to leave (UK) hanging, and he’s really committed to that.”

18.  His coaches want Stephen Garcia to complete at least 60% of his passes this fall.  Last year he completed 55%.

19.  Here’s some more on Steve Spurrier’s decision to start calling plays again.

20.  This writer says Spurrier called most of the plays last year… but there was a huge drop-off when he wasn’t doing it.  (I’ll look forward to seeing a much more explosive, effective Carolina attack this fall then.)
