SEC East Headlines – 2/17/10

4.  Ohboyohboyohboyohboy… Tim Tebow is dating an American Idol contestant afterall.  (If she ever sings “I Can’t Get No Satisfaction,” we’ll all know why.)

5.  Does Billy Donovan need to start breaking clipboards to get his team’s attention?

6.  There are signs that all the minutes Erving Walker is spending at the point are finally taking a toll on him.

7.  This writer believes the Gators need four more regular-season wins to gain an at-large bid into the NCAA tournament.

8.  Mark Richt’s Georgia Bulldogs could benefit from their 2010 schedule.

9.  The basketball Dawgs are 11-12 overall and need to start winning some road games if they want to reach postseason play.

10.  Mark Fox has been emphasizing free throws to his team heading into tonight’s tussle at Tennessee.

11.  Jonathan Crompton has met with more than a dozen NFL teams since his season ended.

12.  Bruce Pearl has hinted at line-up changes as he prepares for a rematch with Georgia… who whipped the Vols 78-63 earlier this season.

13.  A UT assistant says talk of a downturn in the Vols’ team chemistry is “idiotic.”

14.  The Vols will be looking to avoid their first three-game losing streak of the Pearl era tonight.

15.  No team goes to the free throw line more than Vanderbilt.

16.  Starting forward Andre Walker is dealing with an injured shoulder and remains questionable for tomorrow’s game at Ole Miss.

23.  The loss of Jarvis Varnado severely wounded Mississippi State last night… and helped Kentucky pull out an 81-75 overtime win on the road.

24.  Rick Stansbury said of UK’s win: “Kentucky, that’s why they’re Kentucky.  They find ways to be whatever they are.” 

25.  John Wall and DeMarcus Cousins are finalists for the Oscar Robertson Trophy, too.
