SEC East Headlines – 2/11/10

1.  We told you yesterday that Florida was hoping to avoid the late-game turnovers that had plagued them of late.  Oh, well.  The Gators squandered a second half lead as they lost 77-71 at South Carolina last night.

2.  UF had a season-high 20 turnovers and hit only 10 of 23 free throw attempts.

3.  This writer believes Dan Werner has become “so timid shooting” that he’s “becoming a liability on offense.”

4.  South Carolina’s Brandis Raley-Ross scored 17 of his 20 points in the second half to spur the Gamecocks’ comeback.

5.  Devan Downey wasn’t “as explosive” last night and Billy Donovan believes that made Carolina more difficult to guard (because other players stepped up).

6.  The win means that USC’s tourney hopes aren’t dead yet.

7.  Darrin Horn: “I think this one was huge for a lot of reasons.”

8.  Three Gamecocks have been invited to the NFL combine.
