The Daily Grab Bag

The folks at MrSEC.com will be convening for some business meetings in the MrSEC command bunker today, which is why we’ve brought you a down-and-dirty, link-centric set of posts today.

You will find that we’ve posted our latest commitment tracker, too.  You can check it out right here to see who’s rising and falling in SEC recruiting.

And here are a few more random notes, columns and blurbs from across the Southeast:

This should have gone as an Ole Miss team note, but I missed it the first time around.  The Northwest Arkansas Morning News provides a preview of the 2009 Rebels right here.

Travis Haney of The Charleston Post & Courier lays out five questions that SEC fans are wanting to see answered in the months ahead.

Tony Barnhart of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution does the five questions thing to, but he focuses solely on the SEC West today.

Big Ten coaches were had to take a lot of questions about the SEC at their own Media Days event last week.  Bet they loved that.

So what’s the difference between Steve Spurrier’s old “Fun ‘n Gun” offense and Urban Meyer’s spread?  Rich Brooks says Spurrier tried to create mismatches with numbers.  Meyer creates mismatches by putting faster players up against slower defenders… and bigger players up against smaller defenders.  This is a very interesting read.

And two from ESPN.com’s Chris Low… Tennessee is looking to improve their receiving corps… and at least one Mississippi State player believes the Bulldogs’ offense will “be high-octane, fast-pace, running-down-the-field and intense.”
