Sophomore tailback Richard Samuel tore it up in Georgia’s scrimmage yesterday… to the tune of 108 yards and two touchdowns on just five carries.

It sounds like Samuel’s performance will force Mark Richt to reconfigure his depth chart.

Richt said of the scrimmage: “Our #1 offense did extremely well, and our #1 defense did extremely well.”

Back from a knee injury, quarterback Joe Cox says offensive lineman Trinton Sturdivant has “got all his strength back.”

There is a pretty big drop-off from from the first-team offensive line to the second-team offensive line.

Defensive end Rod Battle recorded 3.5 sacks in yesterday’s scrimmage.

The AJC coaxed a Q&A session out of freshman tight end Arthur Lynch.
